From January 4 to 7, the International Conference on the Opening of the New Harbin District (Innovative Special Economic Zone) was held in Harbin, People's Republic of China.
The delegation from the city of Slavutych, consisting of the deputy mayor Mykhailo Shynkarenko and the head of the infrastructure and capital construction department Sergey Vorona, took part in the event.
During the conference, cities from all over the world had the opportunity to share their experiences and present their investment potential.
As part of the conference, Ukraine's Day in Harbin was held on January 7. Deputy Mayor Mykhailo Shynkarenko presented the opportunities and advantages of Ukraine in general and Slavutych in particular, regarding the implementation of investment projects and deepening cooperation between Ukraine and China. While talking to representatives of the Government and business circles of Harbin, the Slavutych delegation discussed the possibility of cooperation in the nuclear and energy sectors (construction of an experimental nuclear reactor or battery maneuvering facilities for the needs of Ukraine's grid). The dialogue resulted in a preliminary agreement on cooperation between Slavutich and Harbin.
